If you are having a rough day at work, just take a break to look at someone willing to lift your spirits! Geckos are adorable lizards that seem to offer the cutest grin to brighten up our days.

This Japanese gecko is probably the best of them all!

Meet the 6-year-old Kohaku, and his toy best friend that looks just like him, Chinmari.

Kohaku’s amazing smile won people’s hearts back in May 2017 when Taylor Nicole Dean, who’s popular on YouTube for her videos about animal care and education, shared photos of him and this toy, captioned: “Look how happy this little gecko is with his gecko toy”.

They immediately went viral!

Kohaku has over 34K followers on the Instagram account 589_tomo, and his pictures and amazing grin have made him a celebrity.

Chinmari has gained a lot of attention too!

The two geckos cuddle, take naps, and even photobomb each other!

Yet, no matter how adorable this gecko is, note that his breed is actually quite aggressive and protective of their territory. Therefore, having a toy best friend was probably the ideal option!

Judging from his photos, Kohaku is one happy guy!

According to the Reptile Magazine, the leopard geckos like him have “been captive bred in the United States for more than 30 years and is one of the most commonly kept lizards today.”

Their beautiful appearance and constant smile makes them very attractive to people, and they can be bought for prices ranging between $20 to $3,000.

 “These hardy saurians come in a variety of colors, patterns, and sizes and are a great species for the home. Imagine a lizard that can vocalize and wash an eye with its tongue without any problem. There’s a friendly dinosaur in this small package.”
