The newest announcement by Apple provided information that the iPhone 7 will involve wireless earbuds, or Dubbed “AirPods,” which will end the old practice of using the much-reviled and ever-tangled cords of conventional earbuds.
According to the CEO Tim Cook, they will be water resistant and will be a shortcut to a “wireless future.” The phone will communicate with the right earbud via Bluetooth, which will send a separate Bluetooth signal to the left earbud.
Yet, experts warn that these AirPods pose a great threat, as they will emit dangerous radiation just into the brain of the user. Actually, the entire process of transmission of the signal will be carried through the brain.
Regarding these warnings, Apple claims that all of their Bluetooth- enabled devices emit radiofrequency radiation (RFR) which is below the limits set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Yet, Joel Moskowitz of the UC Berkeley School of Public Health states that more than 200 scientists who have studied the effects of electromagnetic fields on the body strongly criticize the FCC guidelines as being extremely lenient.
He explains:
“ We are playing with fire here. You are putting a microwave-emitting device next to your brain. This has been observed over several decades. It’s like we keep rediscovering that Bluetooth is harmful and trying to forget it because we don’t know how to handle it from a policy standpoint.”
Traditionally, researchers and scientists believed that RFR does not carry enough electromagnetic energy and radiation to lead to cellular or DNA damage, while more high-energy ionizing radiation such as X-rays have been shown to cause cancer.
However, Joel adds:
“This has been observed over several decades. It’s like we keep rediscovering that Bluetooth is harmful and trying to forget it because we don’t know how to handle it from a policy standpoint.”
Furthermore, numerous studies have provided evidence that RFR directly harms health. One of these studies has discovered that RFR degrades the blood-brain barrier, helping more toxins to enter the brain.
This is the greatest concern with the use of RFR transmitters directly next to the brain.
According to Moskowitz:
“Although we don’t know the long-term risks from using Bluetooth devices, why would anyone insert microwave-emitting devices in their ears near their brain when there are safer ways to use a cell phone? Essentially I recommend using corded headsets or hands-free use of cell phones, not wireless ear buds.”
All studies which have been conducted found that the health concerns with cell phone radiation apply equally to Bluetooth, and thus to Apple’s AirPods as well.
Hence, those interested in buying the newest iPhone 7 should consider the 2010 industry-funded Interphone study findings. Researchers showed that the risk of acoustic nerve tumors, parotid gland tumors, and brain tumors is significantly increased in individuals who have used a mobile phone for at least 10 years.
Earlier in 2016, numerous American scientists gathered at a pediatric conference in Baltimore to confirm that there is no room for a debate about the relation between brain cancer and the use of cell phones.
Dr. Devras Davis, president of the Environmental Health Trust stated:
“The weight of the evidence is clear: cell phones do cause brain cancer.”
