6 Powerful Cancer-Killing Plants You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

People have become more and more interested in natural remedies. However, these herbal alternatives are not well known to the majority nor have hit the mainstream.

Taking into consideration that scientists have not studied many of the species for their healing potential, we can freely say that nature still hides a great number of natural remedies.

In this article we will discuss over 6 plants and science has not provided enough evidence about their healing properties as it has for turmeric, garlic and ginger. However, each of these is quite promising, especially in the aspect of their cancer-killing potential.

This article has informational purpose. These potent cancer-killers should be taken into consideration, so make sure you ask your naturopathic doctor if it is possible to include any of these in your therapy.

1. Brucea Javanica

Shrubs are not the most exciting species in the world of plants. Well, that’s what the world thought before learning more about the healing benefits of the varieties found in Southeast Asia and North Australia.

In Chinese medicine this shrub has been long used for its anti-cancer properties. Researchers confirmed its effectiveness against breast and bladder cancer, and even leukemia.

Pretty interesting for such a little shrub, right?

2. Graviola

This tree grows in South America, and its soursop fruits are quite popular, thanks to the Internet. Graviola extract contains some of the most potent cancer-killing compounds. However, many of these are still unknown to the public, at least not as they should be.

A group of scientists at the Purdue University showed that graviola can selectively kill cancer cells. The Cancer Research UK also confirmed that it can destroy certain types of liver and breast cancers that are usually resistant to chemotherapy and other medications.

“But there haven’t been any large-sale studies in humans, so we don’t know yet whether it can work as a cancer treatment or not,” they explained. A reasonable person would ask “What are you waiting for?”

3. Paw Paw

It is a tropical-looking plant, and resembles papaya fruits, only in green version. It grows in the Midwestern US. What’s more important, according to the same study by the Purdue University that involved graviola, it is probably the most powerful anti-cancer plant on both American continents.

Unfortunately, there are still no human trials in the aspect of its anti-cancer properties.

4. Fucoidan

It does not necessarily mean that the most potent anti-cancer plants grow on land -- fucoidan is a sea plant, and it is part of the top six anti-cancer plants.

In March, 2011, an issue of Phytotherapy Research explained that fucoidan stops the growth of lung cancer and triggers the death of cancer cells, commonly known as aptosis, or a programmed natural process in the body. A study conducted in October 2011, published in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, revealed that fucoidan destroys lung cancer cells, and at the same time increases the number of white blood cells.

You would probably not recognize it if it was growing in your backyard pond, but it is nice to know that it is available whenever you may need it!

5. Artemisinin

It is made from the sweet wormwood plant. This perennial Chinese herb destroys cancer cells without damaging the healthy cells. According to a study, the ratio is 12,000 to 1.

6. Lei Gong Teng

Commonly known as the “thunder god vine,” if you by any chance have seen any of the many Internet heath memes. It has strong anti-cancer properties, at least that is what the preliminary studies have shown.

According to a study, it also induces aptosis, as provided with its anti-leukemic effects. However, there are possible side effects you should be aware of, same as the other plants on this list, so make sure you consult a professional.

It is good to know all this information, and the promising life-saving properties. Wonder what should be the next step?

Does an actual large-scale human trial sound good to you?
